In 2020, as the world grappled with the unprecedented challenges of the Covid pandemic, my personal journey also took unexpected turns. I navigated the storm of divorce while simultaneously facing the reality of pandemic-related lockdowns. The safety nets I had relied on were shifting, and amidst it all, I lost my job, leaving me with a profound sense of uncertainty.
The threads of change continued to weave their intricate patterns as I made the difficult decision to sell my beloved home in Sonoma County, California. Guided by a calling I couldn't ignore, I embarked on a journey that led me to Ogden, Utah—a place I'd never physically seen, yet felt deeply connected to through the whispers of intuition.
The challenges kept coming, each one testing my strength and resolve. Buying a new home, a haven for my family, was a leap of faith as I relied on the eyes of my sister and brother-in-law over FaceTime to guide me. My heart ached as I faced the unimaginable loss of my father to Covid on the same day I signed the final house papers, a bittersweet juxtaposition that etched a deep mark in my journey.
But amidst the darkness, I found light in the embrace of a new purpose. Guided by an inner compass, I realized the importance of self-sufficiency and connection to the Earth. I was led to the path of learning how to grow our own food, cultivating an herb garden that breathed life into our dreams. The seeds of a home-based business, a cottage kitchen, began to sprout, nurtured by a desire to be present for my boys as they grew and flourished.
As a mother, I've come to understand that this journey is more than a business venture—it's a sacred calling, a commitment to nurturing the growth and development of my boys. Their milestones are the most precious jewels in the crown of my existence, and I hold this role with reverence.
Building connections and networks among like-minded souls in Ogden and Northern Utah has become a cornerstone of this journey.
